CURRICULUM SUPPORT ASSISTANTS

HUMANITIES, EXPRESSIVE ARTS / PE, LANGUAGES FACULTIES
37 hours per week / term time only (plus 5 Training Days)

Required for Autumn Term 2019

(Level 3A Point Range 5 – 8 depending on experience) £18,795 - £19,945 pro rata

Actual salary range will be £16,293 - £17,290

Term Time Only: 37 hours per week

 

We wish to appoint Curriculum Support Assistants to work in three faculties across the school.

The nature of the work is in three broad areas:

  • Providing clerical and administrative support to the faculty
  • Working with students in classrooms or in small support groups within the designated curriculum team
  • Providing short-term absence cover for teachers where work has been set in advance or by the subject leader.

We would welcome applications from those who have experience within schools and would like to progress to a post of greater responsibility. This post may also prove attractive to teachers who are planning to return to a post in education after a career break or to graduates who are considering teacher training and wish to gain experience in schools before applying. We are a teaching school and a number of colleagues who started with us in CSA roles subsequently went on to train as teachers with us and were then offered jobs on the teaching staff.

TEACHING ASSISTANT

LEARNING SUPPORT
31 hours per week / term time only (including 5 Training Days)

Required for September 2019

(Level 2 Point Range 3 - 6 depending on experience) £18,065 - £19,171 pro rata

(Actual salary range will be £13,120 - £13,923)

 Hours of work: 8.30am – 3.10pm (30 minute lunch break) Monday – Friday

We wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work in Learning Support.

The successful applicant will work alongside the teaching staff in supporting students in lessons or on a one to one basis when students are withdrawn from lessons.

MATHEMATICS TEACHER

Main Scale/possible leadership scale enhancement

Start date: September 2019

 

We are looking for a full time, dynamic and enthusiastic maths teacher to start in September 2019. The maths department is a strong and supportive department with 13 teachers, an attached curriculum support assistant and teaching assistants who work predominantly with the maths faculty.   A Level uptake at both maths and further maths is strong and results are consistently above the national average. 

Maths is based in a suite of rooms with departmental office space and a faculty staff room.

The post is suitable for both newly qualified and experienced teachers. For a suitably experienced teacher there would be the opportunity to apply for SLE (specialist leader in education) status through the Redborne Teaching School Alliance which would allow progression on to the leadership scale.

ENGLISH TEACHER 

Start date: September 2019 (Maternity cover)

We are looking for a full time, dynamic and enthusiastic English teacher from September 2019. You will be experienced in teaching English at GCSE and A Level standard.  A Level uptake is strong and results are consistently above the national average. The English department is a large, strong and supportive department with 16 teachers and an attached curriculum support assistant.  The faculty also offers courses in film studies as well as the more traditional courses in language and literature. 

The English faculty is based in a suite of rooms with a departmental office/staff room.

The post would be suitable for both newly qualified and experienced teachers.

Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire .We achieve excellent examination results with about  three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 - 4.  ‘A’ Level results are also very good with over half at ‘A*’, ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded and oversubscribed situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London. The campus includes a state-of-the-art 400 seat theatre and we have plans for further expansion to take the school to a capacity of 1,750, with 500+ in the sixth form.
