ICT and Computing
The ICT Department at Redborne consists of two full-time staff and three part time-time staff member. We have three dedicated computer suites (rooms 102, 103 and 104). All of these are equipped with up to date computers, sound, ceiling mounted projectors and whiteboards. The department prides itself with a high standard of teaching and results.
Students start their introduction to ICT and Computer Science in year 9 and are timetabled for two lessons in a two week cycle. This provides them with an insight into the GCSE options that are available to them the following June.
Year 10 and 11 can follow ICT, Computer Science or iMedia as an option subject.
Students have the opportunity to take ICT or Computer Science through to A-level in the sixth form.
For all year groups work is submitted and marked electronically at regular periods. Students are encouraged to complete any outstanding work at home via the schools remote apps facility.
Extra curriculum activities include; robotics club, coding workshops, cyber security challenge and educational visits.
