Redborne is a successful school on a spacious and pleasant campus near the market town of Ampthill in Bedfordshire. We achieve excellent examination results with about three-quarters of students typically gaining Maths and English at grades 9 – 4. ‘A’ Level results are also very good with over half at ‘A*’, ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades and an overall pass rate of 99.9%. About 80% of the Sixth Form go on to university and each year a number of students get into Oxbridge. The school is well regarded, oversubscribed and situated in a very pleasant area of Central Bedfordshire, within easy reach of London. The campus includes a state-of-the-art 400-seat theatre and Sixth Form social area. In the next few years the school is likely to expand to 1,700 with 500+ in the sixth form.

We wish to appoint a flexible, hardworking individual as a First Aid and administration assistant. You will be based in our north school reception and the role will include being the first point of contact for First Aid and First Aid administration. The role also includes a range of administrative duties and some reception cover. This is a great opportunity for a hard-working and friendly team player who is able to demonstrate:

CURRICULUM SUPPORT ASSISTANT -
Expressive Arts Faculty and School Wide

37 hours per week / term time only (plus 5 Training Days)
Monday – Thursday 8am – 4pm and Friday 8am – 3.30pm

Start Date – April 2024

(Level 3A Point Range 5 – 8 depending on experience) £23,500.00 - £24,702.00 pro rata
Actual salary range will be £20,461.00 - £21,508.00

We wish to appoint a flexible, hardworking and enthusiastic Curriculum Support Assistant to work with our Expressive Art Faculty and across the whole school. The nature of the work is in three broad areas:

  • Providing clerical and administrative support to the faculty
  • Working with students in classrooms or in small support groups within the designated curriculum team
  • Providing short-term absence cover for teachers where work has been set in advance by the teacher or by the subject leader.

With this role will come the responsibility of some independent teaching. We would welcome applications from those who have experience within schools and would like to progress to a post of greater responsibility. This post may also prove attractive to teachers who are planning to return to a post in education after a career break or to graduates who are considering teacher training and wish to gain experience in schools before applying. We are a teaching school and a number of colleagues who started with us in CSA roles subsequently went on to train as teachers with us and were then offered jobs on the teaching staff.

DESIGNATED DEPUTY SAFEGUARDING LEAD

Actual salary range will be £25,395.00 - £26,734.00
 Hours of work: 8.00am – 4.00pm (30 minute lunch break) Monday – Thursday
8.00am – 3.30pm (30 minute lunch break) Friday

The candidate will have to allow some flexibility in the hours of work to cater for the requirements of the role.

We wish to appoint a hardworking and motivated Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to work alongside our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to improve the life outcomes and opportunities for our students and their families. The role will support the pastoral teams with the management and response to safeguarding. The ability to work as part of a team and confidence to work with students, parents and external agencies is essential.

We wish to appoint a flexible, hardworking individual as a Catering Manager. You will be responsible for the smooth running of three busy school canteens and managing a team of staff. The role includes a range of duties and a great opportunity for a hard-working and friendly team player who is able to demonstrate:

  • High standards of food preparation and delivery

  • Organisational skills
  • An understanding of Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations

You will give administrative support to the Year Team, Safeguarding Lead and pastoral support to students ensuring we establish consistently high standards with regard to behaviour, uniform and attendance.
