Use the links on the left or the headings below to access Redborne Upper School services. Click on a link then input your username and password when prompted.
Although our website does not use cookies, our password protected areas do. By logging in you accept their use to determine your log on status.
Students are encouraged to check e-mail regularly as it is increasingly being used to send messages and to give reminders. Some students find it helpful to complete work on computer and then e-mail the results to their teachers.
If you wish to contact someone by e-mail, the address is @redborne.beds.sch.uk. Members of staff have an ‘st’ prefix, followed by the initial and then the surname, e.g. stdcameron. Students are identified by their year of entry, so 07JBloggs would be a student who started at Redborne in 2007.
Remote apps allows students and staff to access their user areas with both read and write access along with lesson store. You also have the ability to access programs like Photoshop, Office 2010 from home to do your work on. Staff can access the SIMS system and any other staff areas subject to access rights. These features are only available to current members of the school and you will need to log on with your normal user name and password. Ideally you need Windows Vista or 7 to take advantage of all the features. If you plan to use XP please follow the instructions by clicking on the help button. You will need to use Internet Explorer 7+. Please take note of the yellow and blue Active X bar that comes across the top of your browser. You will need to right click and select install ActiveX. Also please click yes if a certificate error appears. Connection speed will depend on your internet connection at home. If you require further help please refer to the remote applications handbook.
SIMS Virtual Learning Gateway (VLG) allows parents and students to access their individual information on the school system. At the moment, this includes live attendance information on a daily basis as well as aggregate statistics over a week or a term. Soon, we will be including on-line progress checks and report grades. This area of the site will be further developed to allow students to log in to on-line learning resources and to complete work on computer that has been individually assigned by the teacher. To access this part of the site you will need a special log on and password. Students will be given their details in lessons and parents will be informed via letter or at parents evenings. Parents should refer to the SIMS SLG handbook for further help.
