What is Extended Schools?

An Extended Schools consortium is a cluster of schools, including lower, middle and upper schools, who work together to provide a range of services to parents and children.

These services fall into 5 broad categories, as laid out by the last government as part of its Extended Schools policy:

 

 

Schools are not expected to provide these services on their own but to work with other schools and providers to meet the needs of students, parents and the local community. The schools in the Redborne Pyramid have worked closely together to ensure parents and students have access to all of the strands of Extended Services, either on their own school site, or through

sign-posting to other schools and local facilities (e.g. the health service, colleges, children's centres).
