In the summer of 2011 the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) was scrapped following a Government review. From September 2011 onwards, it has been replaced by the 16 to 19 Bursary Fund. The fund is a national scheme and is administered by individual schools. Redborne has worked with other Upper Schools in Bedfordshire to produce a common scheme adopted by all schools.
